Class Descriptions

Pre-School Classes

In the Pre-School gymnastics classes your child learns to adjust to a group situation with their peers. They will begin working on basic tumbling skills and activities on the gymnastics equipment, as well as motor skills, hand-eye coordination, fine muscle control, and activities designed to aid the academic development of the child with the guidance of the gymnastic(s) instructor.

Preschool aged gymnast

Play and Learn

A class where a parent is involved, guiding their child through a theme-based obstacle course using bars, balance beam, and tumbling stations. The class focuses on jumping, rolling, climbing, and balancing while teaching kids to take turns and follow parent instruction.

Teddy Bears

This class is designed to enhance gross motor development, introduce basic gymnastics skills in a fun and supportive environment. 
Gross motor skills like jumping, rolling and balancing improve large muscle groups. Students will be introduced to skills on bars, beam and floor. 
This class is without parent assistance. 
Students have to be potty trained in order to attend the Teddy Bear Class

Tumblebears

This class is designed to work further on gross motor skills, coordination and balance, social skills and confidence. 
Gross motor skills: activities such as jumping, rolling, balancing .
Coordination & balance: Learning to control their bodies in different positions, learning to take turns, and follow instructions.
Confidence: Completing simple tasks in gymnastics boosts a child’s self-esteem and encourages a positive attitude towards physical activity.

Kinderbear

Class focuses on teaching tumbling, bars,beam and vaulting skills. 
Our station based class formation ensures that each student can progress at their own level/pace.
 

Recreational Classes

We offer gymnastics classes for all ages with emphasis on skill development and enjoyment. Emphasis is on physical fitness through gymnastics activities. Tumbling, Balance Beam, Uneven Bars, and Vault are included.  These levels are designed for gymnasts ages 6 & up.

Level 1

Focus on the basic gymnastics skills: Cartwheels, handstands, back bends, pullovers, jumps & positions.
(1 hour class)

Level 2

Focus on intermediate skills: Round-off, back walkovers, back hip circles, leaps & turns.
(1.25 hour class)

Level 3

Focus on intermediate to advanced skills: Back handsprings, cartwheels on beam, tap swings and high bar skills. (1.5 hour class)

Tumbling Classes

Tumbling classes are tumbling skill specific, only working on the floor. Students will utilize the Air Trak, TumblTrak and other mats designed to build overall body strength and confidence in learning new skills. Repetitive progression is most important when learning tumble correctly. As students master skills, they will increase the level of difficulty to work toward skills needed for other activities, such as cheer or dance. (all levels of tumbling are 1 hour, once a week)

Beginning Tumbling

The beginning level is designed for students who have never tumbled before. Here they will learn the basics of tumbling, which are important and will be used to master harder skills along the road.

Intermediate Tumbling

The intermediate level is designed for students who have mastered beginning tumbling skills. Here they will advance to harder skills such as learning a back handspring.

**Must have a back walkover**!

Advanced Tumbling

The advanced level is designed for students who have mastered a standing back handspring and/or round off back handspring. Here they will advance to back tuck(s), layouts and full twisting layouts in series and standing. Students in this class must master one skill completely before moving to a harder skill. Form is important when advancing in tumbling. **Must have a running round-off back handspring**

Pre-Team and Competitive Gymnastics

Hotshots

This invitation only program is designed for pre-school aged children who are excelling in their recreational classes. The next step for these gymnasts is to join the pre-team program where they will continue to work on skills required for team. (1.5 hours a week)

Pre-Team:

 invitation only program is structured towards helping your child become a competitive gymnast. The next step for these gymnasts is to join the competitive team. Pre-Team is a big commitment and these gymnasts are expected to attend all practices, year round. (3-6 hours a week)

Team

The Gymnastics Zone offers girls competitive gymnastics. These gymnasts work on strength, flexibility and master compulsory routines. They compete in multiple USAG sanctioned competitions over the season against other gymnastics clubs. Team girls practice anywhere from 6 – 12 hours a week. Private Lessons

Private or Semi-Private lessons are offered upon student’s request. Please contact the office to set up a lesson time with an instructor. Payment is cash or check only.

No-Show Policy: In the event you are unable to make your scheduled time, please contact The Gymnastics Zone at least 48 hours prior to your private lesson. Failure to appear for your scheduled private lesson, without any notice, will result in paying full price for the lesson as if you were there.

1/2 hour = $45.00 1/2 hour – shared (2 students) = $60

Yes, however we do not accept debit/credit card charges under $20. 

Yes, you can set up tuition payments on Auto-Pay through the parent portal.

There will be a $25 declined autopayment/card fee if your autopayment is declined.

 

Yes.  Payments made over the phone will have a $3 service fee added on to the total.

While tuition is due monthly, we do not consider each month a new session. During the school year (September-May), your child’s enrollment is carried over each month. Should you choose to withdraw your child from our program, a two-week written notice is required, as stated on the registration form signed at the time of enrollment.

All new students will have a non-refundable annual registration fee of $35 due at the time of enrollment.  The registration fee is due every 12 months, based on their registration date.

Tuition is due on the 1st day of each month, regardless of what day you attend class.   New student’s first month of tuition will be prorated, based on the date of the initial class.

Payments received after the 2nd class of each month will be issued a $15 late fee.

*Auto-pay and payments made over the phone will have a $3 service fee added to the total.

If you do not want to enroll in auto-pay, please send your child with your card, check or cash payment by the 1st of the month. Please make sure your child’s first/last name is on the payment and cash payments are secured in an envelope.
